Our community justice system is stretched and strained to its limit. WE the people need to pay attention and start to get involved... I had the pleasure to speak to one of our judges (more listen) about two years ago, what was shared curled what hair I have left. Millages have to be coming hard and fast...
The honorable Mr. Bentley is making a good show of himself, IMO. Coming to other Muni meetings to make comment and gather support shows his wisdom and "chops".
Efficiency, while valuable, can be misapplied to wasteful or unnecessary tasks. In fact, the more pointless the task, the easier it is to optimize its execution.
The real question is effectiveness—specifically, how effectively are taxpayer dollars being used to create new jobs? The key metric here is the cost per new employee.
I haven’t seen this figure reported, likely buried beneath layers of bureaucratic jargon to obscure it from those of us who prefer straightforward math.
They’re not being used efficiently to bring jobs that’s the problem. You may find this unbelievable but it’s truth. The College and City had an unwritten wage cap agreement to keep wages low for the College or they couldn’t keep people employed. Ron Trowbridge spilled the beans. He liked to tip the bottle and loose lips shine ships.
Government does for government as anyone does for themselves. "Put your mask on first" anything else "good" that comes from it it mere happenstance. The only reason government "appears" to try to help WE is to continue to justify their largely needless existence.
